The Adult Education Program

If you need to improve your English skills, obtain a high school diploma, or expand your horizons by taking an enrichment course, you have opened the right web page!

There are three ways to earn a high school diploma at the New Haven Adult and Continuing Education Center: GED, Credit Diploma Program, or External Diploma Program. We have many levels of ESOL classes to improve your proficiency in English. We offer a number of enrichment classes, each of which will enhance your lifelong learning. Each person entering New Haven Adult and Continuing Education has a unique experience; so before deciding on a program, please discuss your situation with our counselors who are on-site at the Ella Grasso Boulevard location Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 3:15 PM and Monday through Wednesday evenings from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. They will help you make an informed decision about which program is best for you. The important thing is that you register to start a program!

The registration process is one that will take some time. This process is in place so that the counselors can help you decide on the best program for you to achieve your goals. Please be aware that you must be 17 or older to enter Adult Education in Connecticut. This law was passed by the legislature on July 1st, 2011.
